Apple WWDC21: Meet StoreKit 2
At its WorldWide Developers Conference, Apple announced:
  • New version of StoreKit (StoreKit 2)
  • New version of the server to server notifications
  • New verification system
  • New API

Amazon to cut down Appstore fees to 20% for small developers
↘️ The Amazon Appstore has announced that it will be reducing its cut of developer revenue from 30% to 20% for developers that earn less than $1 million in revenue per year.
The new terms will also provide developers with AWS promotional credit in an amount equivalent to 10 percent of the developer’s revenue if they earn less than $1 million in revenue per year.

OTT video services in USA: key metrics
Parks Associates announced new research from its Q1 2021 survey of 10,000 broadband households showing that 46% of US broadband households subscribe to four or more OTT services and 82% of US broadband households have an OTT subscription, compared to 76% in Q1 2020.

Three trends among OTT Services:
  • The “Big 3” in OTT services — Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu — lead in subscriber retention with the longest average subscription lengths: up to 48 months for Netflix.
  • 61% of OTT subscribers say they never subscribe to a service on impulse.
  • 30% of subscribers say they often subscribe to a service to watch a specific program.

ELLE, the iconic women’s publication has decided to launch its In-App Subscriptions, with Purchasely.
A first amongst French Women’s Press, this launch enables ELLE App readers to access exclusive premium content and subscribe to the digital version of the magazine.
